Woods Fund Grant Renewal Process

Posted: 1/21/2009

Dear Grantee Partners:

Happy New Year!!! As we begin our 2009 grantmaking cycle, for non profits with current grants, we want to take this opportunity to remind you of our grant renewal process. The Woods Fund is open to receiving requests for renewed support from successful grantee partners. Renewed support is not automatically guaranteed. An invitation to submit an application for renewed support will depend on a number of factors including continued alignment of proposed activities with the Woods Fund mission, core values and overall grantmaking strategy; demonstrated impact of previously funded work; successful adherence to requirements outlined in the grant agreement; and availability of Woods Fund grantmaking dollars to support the request.

Organizations seeking renewed funding must first submit an Inquiry Form as outlined in our Inquiry and Application Instructions. You can find this document on our website at: www.woodsfund.org/site/epage/65178_735.htm.  Letters of inquiry must be submitted electronically by midnight on January 30, 2009 for our June 2009 cycle and July 31, 2009 for our December 2009 cycle.

These are challenging financial times for us all. While we want to do what we can to be a responsible and responsive non profit partner, this remains a competitive process that will require us to make some difficult decisions. Further, it is likely for those non profits  invited to submit a proposal, invitation amounts will be lower than in previous years.

As always, please feel free to contact a member of our program staff if you have questions.

Warm Regards,

Deborah Harrington                                                                                                                                                   President
