Brittany Ward, Grants and Administrative Manager
Brittany joins Woods Fund Chicago as grants and administrative manager, maintaining and managing the grantmaking process from initial requests to final recommendations. Her studies have focused on the African Diaspora and Indigenous histories in the US and Canada, and she has rooted her professional career in a deep belief that nonprofits can help dismantle unjust systems while uplifting communities.
Brittany’s past roles span operations work at local healthcare organizations and nonprofits focused on experiential learning access for students on Chicago’s South and West Sides. In these positions she has supported program delivery, operations, board relations, fundraising, and executive strategy. She was a founding member of Project Letters, a grassroots initiative that delivered direct payments and letters to unhoused individuals. She is drawn to work that centers racial and social justice and shifting power, believing that every community should get to tell their own story and drive their own change.
Outside of work, Brittany enjoys travel, yoga and Pilates, and taking advantage of Chicago’s many summer festivals.
